A Gasketed Plate Heat Exchanger
consists of a number of pressed metal plates each with a
rubber gasket.
The gasket arrangement allows two fluids to
pass in opposite directions through alternate channels.

The plates are compressed between two heavy metal plates
(head & follower) by a number of clamping bolts.

enables it to be easily dismantled for cleaning or the addition
of extra plates.
